Christmas is coming and for most of us, it’s the time of year to look forward to, with millions of us taking to the roads to visit family, friends and loved ones near and far.
You can be the most organised person in the world and things will still go wrong, so to avoid getting into any sticky situations with your vehicle this Christmas (at a time you really don’t want the stress and hassle), here are some tips to consider - and that are actually good habits to get into for the rest of the year too!
1. Buy a key finder
As soon as you type the word ‘key finder’ into Google, you’ll see all kinds of nifty gadgets pop up. We recommend one that’s Bluetooth enabled and that syncs to an app on your phone, where you can simply click a button for the device on your keys to emit a noise. You can now even get ones that give you a GPS location too!
2. Keep your car keys in a safe place
I think most of us can agree that at some point in our lives, we have spent time searching for our car keys only to find them in a different place than usual. To avoid this happening (especially if you’re going to be hosting some parties over Christmas), dedicate a place for them to call home such as a bowl or drawer - but ensure it’s away from windows and doors so as not to attract any thieves!
3. Keep spare car keys with family or friends
We always recommend keeping a spare set of car keys with a nearby relative or friend. This prevents the unnecessary hassle of being locked out of your car and also having to pay an auto locksmith to programme new ones for you.
We hope that these tips will prevent you from needing an auto locksmith over the festive period. At a time of the year you certainly don’t want the stress, keeping your keys safe and with back-up methods in place, you can be sure to enjoy quality time with your friends and family.
