Meet the man behind County Auto Locks, Dave. We asked Dave a few questions to get to know him a little bit more. Keep on reading to find out what his favourite car is, as well as what he gets up to when he isn’t helping people gain access to their vehicles.
What made you get into the car locksmith industry?
It was a natural progression for me. Within locksmithing it’s always a good move to specialise in one area, and I’m a bit of a petrol head! It’s also a very skilled and rewarding part of the industry.
How many vehicles do you think you've worked on, to date, as an Auto Locksmith?
This is a hard question to answer but I would say well over 5000.
What job would you do if you weren't an Auto Locksmith?
I had a brief spell upon finishing school as a carpet fitter, but also considered the Armed Forces or Police.
What is your dream car?
Audi RS6.
What do you enjoy doing when you're not working?
Spending time with my family, mountain biking, fishing and socialising.
Where is the most interesting place you've been?
As a locksmith, it was a security vault with over 30 million pounds in cash!
Who is your role model (famous or not) and why?
I wouldn’t say he is a role model, but more an inspirational figure. His name was Roy Saunders and he is a world renowned safe and vault technician. His stories were something else!
What is the best way to start a day?
Early!!
What is at the top of your bucket list?
A very early retirement and to travel.
